Copyright 2.0 Show – Episode 319 – Aereo on Pause

Aereo AntennasIt is Friday again and that means that it is time for another episode of the Copyright 2.0 Show.

Just when we thought we were going to get a break in stories about Aereo we have not one but two different tales about the TV streaming service. First we look at a Utah court that has handed the company its first-ever injunction and then we look at the broadcasters are saying about it to the Supreme Court.

But it’s not just about Aereo and judges this week, we also have two pieces of legislative news as the U.S. House of Representatives passes a bill to legalize cell phone unlocking that still has some people upset and new potential legislation to change how much songwriters get paid when their music is streamed.

We also have an update on the Grooveshark case and two unusual tales as Gearbox Software sues 3D Realms over the character Duke Nukem and comedian Hank Azaria wins a battle over a zany baseball announcer character.

All of that and much more on this Episode 319 of the Copyright 2.0 Show!

This week’s stories include:

  • Utah Court Rules Against Aereo, Orders Injunction
  • Broadcasters Threaten to Cut Back Free TV if Aereo Wins
  • U.S. House Passes Cell Phone Unlocking Bill
  • Bill Aims to Help Songwriters Get Higher Royalties
  • RIAA Seeks Summary Judgment Against Grooveshark
  • Gearbox Sues 3D Realms Over Impending Duke Nukem Game
